* WELCOME TO K.I.R.E

Welcome to the Kansas Immigration Reform Effort web page.  We hope this site will be a useful resource to you in the coming months as we pursue efforts to stop the illegal alien invasion into Kansas by reforming Kansas immigration laws to conform to the beliefs of the majority of the citizens of Kansans.

The effect of the illegal alien invasion in Kansas is measured in numerous ways.   The costs to taxpayers for education, health care, crime, law enforcement, identification theft, and loss of jobs, to mention a few, are astronomical.

K.I.R.E is not against LEGAL immigration but the rule of law is absolutely essential to the preservation of our democracy and crossing our borders without proper credentials and approval is a violation of our laws which we cannot and will not allow.

* ENDING THE ILLEGAL ALIEN INVASION IN KANSAS

With the recent passage of the Oklahoma illegal alien legislation HB 1804, Kansas can expect an influx of illegal aliens as they flee Oklahoma in an effort to avoid being arrested and deported back to Mexico.

HB 1804, the Oklahoma Taxpayers and Citizens Protection Act of 2007, became effective as of November 1, 2007 and illegal aliens will be making a bee line for Kansas which is , for all intents and purposes, a sanctuary state.    Even though the 2007 legislature passed the “English Only” bill HB2140, it was watered down and does not require English only.  To see text of HB 2140 go to www.kslegislature.org/bills/2008/2140.pdf Despite efforts to the contrary in-state tuition for illegal aliens legislation was passed a few years ago but thankfully a push for drivers licenses for illegals was thwarted.

2008 IS THE YEAR FOR CHANGE !   As of the month of December 2007 new legislation is being written based on Oklahoma HB1804 !    (To find out about Oklahoma HB1804 go to  www.okiron.org and click on HB1804 summary.)  The Kansas bill will be prefiled before the 2008 Legislative session begins on January 14.    Continue to monitor this site for updates on the status of the new bill.
